How to Add Critical Alerts to Brevo
Place a hidden banner in a Brevo email and turn it on later if something changes: a delivery delay, a cancelled event, a sold-out product.
Keep a switch in your Brevo emails for when plans change after you hit send.
Once a Brevo campaign is out, you can't edit what's in people's inboxes. A Sendtric critical alert gets around that: you add an alert banner to the email, and it stays invisible until you switch it on. Turn it on and everyone who opens the email from then on sees it. Critical alerts are part of Sendtric's Enterprise plans.

What you can do with critical alerts in Brevo
- Shop updates: a "back in stock on Friday" or "shipping delayed" banner in a promotion that already went out to your Brevo list.
- Event changes: a venue change, a weather warning or a postponement in the confirmation and reminder emails your automation already sent.
- Service notices: planned maintenance or an outage note for SaaS and utility customers.
- Opening hours: an unexpected closure at a restaurant or store, switched off again when you reopen.
How to add a critical alert to Brevo
Step 1: Design the alert
In Sendtric, open Critical alerts and click Create New. Start from a preset, such as Event Postponed or Site Under Maintenance, or a blank canvas, and adjust the text and colors to your brand.
Step 2: Decide when it shows
In Critical Alerts Settings, leave Manual override off for now. If you already know when the alert should run, add a scheduled window with a start, an end and a time zone. The alert is on when the manual override is on or the current time is inside a window.

Step 3: Copy the code
Save the alert and click Copy Code. This code never changes, whatever you do to the alert later.

Step 4: Paste it into your Brevo email
In the drag and drop editor, drag an HTML block from Content > Blocks to where the alert should appear, usually right at the top. Click the block, replace the placeholder text with the code and save. While the alert is off, the block takes up no visible space.

Step 5: Test both states
Send a Brevo test email with the alert off, then switch Manual override on and open the test again. You should see an empty spot the first time and your banner the second.
Add it to templates you send often
If you rely on a few Brevo templates for order, booking or event emails, place the alert in those templates once. You then have a way to reach everyone who received them, without sending a new campaign.
Brevo Critical Alert FAQ
Which Sendtric plan do I need?
An Enterprise plan. On other plans, the Create New button for critical alerts is disabled. See pricing.
What do contacts see while the alert is off?
Nothing. The block shows an invisible 1 by 1 pixel image, so the email looks as if the alert isn't there.
Will contacts who already opened the email see the alert?
If they open the email again while the alert is on and their email app loads the image again, yes. Some email apps keep a copy of images, so a reopen can occasionally show the earlier state.
Can I change the wording while it's live?
Yes. Edit and save the alert in Sendtric at any time. The next open shows the new version.
Do views count while the alert is off?
No. Views are only counted while the alert is on.
